Bhutan Thunder Dragon Tour is a 9 Night / 10 Days blissful trip in the land of the ancient mystery explore popular monuments Kichu Lakhang. Bhutan is a beautiful country tucked between Tibet and India – and is popularly known as the last Shangri-La. The major attraction remains the hike to the Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s nest) in Paro and the dzongs of Thimpu, Paro and Punakha.

The fight to Paro crosses the Himalayan Mountains, affording spectacular views of the awesome peaks, including the sacred jumolhari and jichu Drake in Bhutan  On arrival in Paro  Airport, you will be received by our guide and transfer to restaurant for lunch . After lunch, you will visit the Rinpung Dzong, the 15th century massive fortress which now serves as administrative and monastic center of the valley. From the Dzong, you can walk down to the road head crossing a traditional wooden bridge. After that you will be taken to Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and the most sacred temple built in 7th century. In the evening, you can stroll in Paro town meet and interact with local people. Today,you will drive to Chelela Pass (3810m) which is the highest motorable pass in Bhutan. The pass is dotted with colorful Buddhist prayer flags offers stunning views of Mount Jumolhari and other mountains and beautiful Paro and Haa valley.

Hike stars from the road point, gradually we will climb on the ridge. During spring season we can see Rhododendrons, Primulas, Edelweiss and other flowers. Hike will take in total of 3 hours. It will take one an half to two hours to reach the Kungkarpo pass (4300M).  If we are fortunate, we will see stunning 360 view of Himalayan peaks. The Kungkarpo pass is use as Sky Burial.From here the trail descends through opened natural meadow and then enter into thick forest of silver fir,Oak and Rhododendrons trees. You will visit the Nunnery temple, pray for good luck and long life. After exploring temple drive back to your hotel in Thimphu.

After breakfast, we will drive 20 minutes at Motithang(2600m). From here we will climb gradually in the forest of Rododendrone, Oak and fir. The hiking trail is pretty wide. It will take 3 hours to reach Phajoding temple (which was founded by Phajo Drugom Zhigpo in 13th century and further one hour to the stupa (4050m). From here we can see stunning view of Himalayan peak including Gangkarpuensum(7650m) and beautiful Thimphu city. Now hike back to the road point. Drive back to Thimphu.

Today you can enjoy beautiful drive to Punakha. En route we will stop at Dochula pass (3150 meters) where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges including the highest peak of Bhutan Gangkar Puensum(7560m) above sea level. We will hike from the pass for 2 hours to the Lungchutse temple. Hiking in the forest of Rhododendron, silver fir and Oak it is so enjoyable. On the the ridges dotted with colorful Buddhist prayer flags.  On clear days, one can enjoy 360° view of the Himalayan mountain ranges from the top of Lungchutse temple.  After exploring the temple, you will hike back to Dochula  .After lunch, drive downhill through the forest of rhododendron,fir,and hemlock. You can visit  Punakha Dzong, former capital and the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan. Overnight in hotel

Today we will drive 30 minutes to north of Punakha and hike through rice fields up to Khamsum Yueley Namgyal Chorten, built in 1990s by Her Majesty the Queen Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck and it took 10 years to complete temple. It is majestically located on the hill, with the amazing views. After lunch, you will drive to Lobesa and short hike through rice paddies up to the Chimi Lhakhang(Fertility Temple). Overnight hotel in punakha.

 

Today after breakfast, we will drive to Phobjikha valley. we will stop in Wangdue to get a glimpse of Wangdue Phodrang Dzong  on the ridge. we will continue our drive  through dense forests of oak and rhododendrons till Lawala pass(3250m). The pass offers exotic views of the Himalayan Mountains. Drive downhill for some time and get the stunning views of Gangtey Goenpa and Phobjikha Valley. Visit Gangtey Goenpa, the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan. Later in the afternoon, you can hike beautiful Phobjikha valley and visit  crane centre which has detail information. The Black Necked Cranes, which migrate from the Tibet to this valley in winter.

After breakfast, you will begin our hike from Gangtey to Longtey Village. We will start our hike with gradual ascents through  beautiful  meadows and farms. From Kayche La pass ((3700m) dotted with some prayer flags. If you have brought prayer flags from town you can host  for good luck and long life.  You will gradually descend to Longtey Village through  dwarf bamboos, birch, rhododendron, hemlock and fir. Today we will have a picnic lunch. We can also see Yaks here. After lunch, you will drive to Wangdue.

After breakfast, you will drive to Paro. Stop at Dochula pass and visit Druk Wangyal temple, which is on the hilltop. Enjoy Lunch in Thimphu and visit folk heritage museum .Continue drive to Paro. In the evening, you can stroll in Paro town. Overnight in hotel

Today, you will hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, Bhutan’s most famous monastery, which located at face of the cliff( 3100m) offering the best view of Paro valley. According to the legend, it is believed that Guru Rimpoche, the 8th century Spiritual Master, flew to this location on the back of a tigress to meditate. Lunch will be served at Cafeteria Restaurant halfway up on the mountain. Explore the monastery and hike back to Paro. Overnight in hotel

In the morning, you will drive to the airport for departure. Our representative will bid you farewell.
