The crystal clear rivers of Bhutan are one of the kingdom’s most precious natural resources. The pristine environment and the sheer variety of the rivers’ courses provide a unique opportunity for travellers to explore Bhutan’s beautiful wilderness. The rugged, untamed waterways of Bhutan will not disappoint the adventurous seekers.  The rivers are plentiful with strong currents varying between slow, gentle flows in some places and powerful, raging torrents in others.

There are six rivers in Bhutan, and if you are a highly-skilled rafter, you can choose a multi-day water trip and explore Bhutan’s stunning landscapes. Or have a combination of rafting and trekking itinerary. Fed by the glacial-melt of the Eastern Himalayas, six major rivers (Wang Chhu, Sunkosh, Puna Tsang Chhu, Mangde Chhu, Kuri Chhu and Dangme Chhu and their tributaries), have been scouted for kayaking and rafting.

The fight to Paro crosses the Himalayan Mountains, affording spectacular views of the awesome peaks, including the sacred jumolhari and jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival in Paro  Airport, you will be received by our guide and transfer to restaurant for lunch . After lunch, you will visit the Rinpung Dzong, the 15th century massive fortress which now serves as administrative and monastic center of the valley. Explore the Dzong, you can walk down to the road head crossing a traditional wooden bridge. After that you will be taken to Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and the most sacred temple built in 7th century. In the evening, you can stroll in Paro town.

5Km | 4-5 hours | 900m Ascent

Today, you will hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, Bhutan’s most famous monastery, which is located at face of the cliff( 3100m) offering the best view of Paro valley. Today’s hike will be the acclimatization for the next day’s trek. According to the legend, it is believed that Guru Rimpoche, the 8th century Spiritual Master, flew to this location on the back of a tigress to meditate. Lunch will be served at Cafeteria Restaurant halfway up on the mountain then hike back to car parking.Overnight in hotel

7Km | 5 hours | 550 Ascent | 80m Descent | Camp altitude 3290m

Today you will begin the day by driving for about 50 minutes to the beautiful Genekha Village from where your trek starts. The trek begins with a short descent to the river. After crossing the Genekha river you start ascending through the forest of Oaks,fir, Rhododendrons, until you reach a huge rock platform from where you have a picturesque view of the valley below. You will continue climbing another two hours to reach Gur (3290m), an area of yak pastures located just below the main trail. Overnight at camp.

12Km | 6 hours | 1010m Ascent | Camp altitude 4300m

Today for the second day, the trail takes you steep ascents across the high ridges through the bushes of Jinupers,Dhododendrons, from where you can truly appreciate the rugged beauty of your surroundings and the mountain vegetation. The path winds through refreshing meadows adorned with wild flowers and asparagus (in spring). The first mountain pass you cross is marked by a huge cairn and gives a spectacular view of Kanjenjunga (Sikkim) and a number of the Bhutanese Himalayan peaks,finally you will reach at the pass, where we can catch 360 degree scenic of Himalayan range . As you descend the pass, you will be able to see the entirety of the Dagala mountain range including meadows and yak herder camps. Here you can explore, Yak Herders lifestyle and interact. Once you have descended into the Labatama valley you begin climbing gradually through the valley, passing several yak herder huts before you arrive at Utsho Tsho Lake (4300m) .Here you can see ancient trade people going to other valley. The campsite is right next to the lake.

Today,you will spend the day exploring any one of nearby lakes such as Relitsho, Hentsho, Setsho and Jagetsho Lakes. Trek on the valley for 30 minutes, then gradually ascents till the lakes. Lakes are believe to be sacred.  These lakes are full of trouts and your trekking leader will tell you mystic stories about these lakes. Lunch by the lakeside with spectacular view around can be a memorable experience. Trek back to the campand be prepared for the next day.

8Km | 5-6 Hours | 220m Ascent | 520m Descent | Camp altitude 4000m

The trail climbs along the western side of Dala Tsho up to a saddle at 4,520m, the highest pass of the Trek. From here onwards you will have a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayan peaks all through the descent. The mountain peaks visible include Mt. Everest (Nepal), Mt. Kanchenjunga (Sikkim), Mt. Jomolhari, Mt. Jichu Drake, Mt. Tshering Gang, Mt. Khangbum, Mt. Masang Gang, Mt. Tsende Gang and Mt. Gangche Ta. If you want an even better view, you can climb a peak close to the saddle with an altitude of 4,720m. From the saddle the path descends, passing some yak herder huts to Doccha Chhu. You follow the river for a while, but stay higher up on the slope to reach Panka (4000m) with ascents and descents along the way.

14Km | 8 Hours| 180M Ascent | 1540m Descent

Today, you will be crossing several passes, each one more impressive than the other. Different varieties of Blue Poppy (June-July) and mountain birds can be found on the trail. After crossing the last small ridge, you will gradually make descend to the main junction. You will follow the trail that leads to Chamgang. After crossing three to four small ridges up and down, you will make final descent to Chamgang village, where your transport will be awaiting to transfer you to Thimphu. Evening, walk in Thimphu city and absorb the lifestyle of people. Overnight hotel in Thimphu.

Today you can enjoy beautiful drive to Punakha. En route we will stop at Dochula pass (3150 meters) where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the Himalayas.In the clear sky, we will see all the  Himalayan ranges including the highest peak of Bhutan Gangkar Puensum(7560m) above sea level. From the pass, drive downhill through the forest of rhododendron,fir,and hemlock. After lunch, you can take short walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang( temple of fertility). Continue drive to Punakha. On arrival, visit Punakha Dzong, former capital and the most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan. Overnight in hotel

Today you will enjoy the exciting river rafting either in Pho-Chhu (male river) or Mo-Chhu (female river). we will drive back to Paro. En route stop at Simtokha and visit Simtokha Dzong. This is one of the first dzongs built by Zhabdrung in the 17th century to Protect from Invaders. Your Lunch will be served in Thimphu. After lunch, continue drive to Paro. Overnight in Paro.

Drive to Paro Airport for your flight. Our representative will bid you farewell.
